About

Batteries are a solution for decarbonising our modes of transport. But their production has a high environmental cost, i.e. approximately 100kg of CO2 for 1 kWh of lithium battery produced. Turning to batteries was therefore relevant in view of the expertise of the co-founders and the challenges linked to the massive arrival of batteries for mobility in Europe. Moreover, the battery is a chemical element, which prevents electric vehicle fleet operators from having direct visibility on the batteries, so they treat them as consumables. On average, they experience a +20% to +40% increase in operating costs due to poor battery decisions. By monitoring and managing batteries, Bib helps operators make informed decisions about charging, repairing and replacing batteries in their fleet. At Bib, we want to extend the life cycle of batteries to limit their environmental footprint. Bib makes the remaining potential transparent and issues a passport for each monitored battery to ensure the best possible end of life for the battery: repair, reuse in second life, or recycling.
