As part of its Space Technology Transfer Programme, the ESA is supporting the Solar Impulse team, with its project that demonstrates once and for all the possibility of flying an airplane without pollution.
The ESA's expertise is being used in several high-tech domains: batteries, photovoltaic cells, energy management systems and ultra-light construction materials.
