We don't always realise how much pollution antifouling paints cause. However, it is the 3rd largest source of micro plastic pollution in the ocean. 1g of biocides contained in these paints contaminate 10 000m3 of water (source ofb). Finsulate has been solving this problem for several years now. Nature is often the best teacher: The Finsulate solution is inspired by the physical properties of the sea urchin's quill. Finsulate is a unique adhesive made of tiny fibres. As with the sea urchin, marine organisms cannot stick to it, but just stay on top of the fibres. Occasional cleaning of the coating is necessary and easy (either by diving or high-pressure jet). Finsulate is a solution that works mechanically, no chemicals to prevent algae and other marine life. Finsulate is therefore totally environmentally friendly. The first boat equipped with Finsulate dates back 10 years and is still operational. We work in the pleasure craft sector, maritime transport and industry (off shore wind for example).
