Carwatt converts industrial and special combustion engine vehicles into electric vehicles. Carwatt converts fleets of vehicles or special vehicles, with a high added value and often a long service life, in urban areas or on dedicated sites (airports, factories, ports) for companies or local authorities. . Carwatt offers more specifically a programme for reusing 2nd life Li-ion batteries coming from the automotive industry.

Implemented by Air France in Paris (France) in 2017

Air France partnered with Carwatt in 2017 in an effort to reach carbon neutrality in its ground operations by 2030. This partnership combines electrification and the circular economy with, in particular, the transformation of old thermal-powered baggage carpets into electricity-powered baggage carpets using second-life Li-ion batteries. Since 2019, 30 baggage carpets, passenger bridges and aircraft tractors have been retrofitted.

300,000 tco2 / y avoided from aircraft tractors at cgd = annual emissions of the paris ring road
