Industrial Carbon Sink

Capturing large scale quantities of co2 from industrial emissions with a negative carbon footprint

Identification

Industrial emissions represent 1/3 of global GHG emissions and usually are a highly concentrated gas with approximatively 1 to 99% of CO2. Suez aims at developing a solution capable of capturing large scale quantities of CO2 from industrial emissions, with a negative carbon footprint based on a revalorization of the captured carbon.

A negative carbon footprint is essential in order to capture effectively the CO2 coming from industrial processes. In order to do so and to respect Suez circular economy engagement, this solution is based on the revalorisation of the captured carbon under the form of micro algae biomass. The device relies on a new technology of artificial light diffusion that homogenize better the photons flow, which is key for a good algae growth, resulting in bests growth/energy ratio to obtain a carbon credit assessment and rate of performance. This Solution allows revalorizing the produced biomass in either energy or a bio-product, both to be used as an avoidance of fossil fuel made products with carbonaceous gray energy.
