From commitments to environmental action : a shared vision unites the Solar Impulse Foundation and CDP

The Solar Impulse Foundation (SIF) is delighted to announce a strategic collaboration with CDP (ex- Carbon Disclosure Project), an organization at the forefront of managing global disclosure systems for investors, companies, cities, states, and regions to navigate their environmental impacts. The collaboration underscores the commitment of SIF and CDP to combine their knowledge, resources, and strategic positions with the joint mission to propel society towards a more sustainable trajectory.

A Complementary approach

CDP operates a global disclosure platform used by over 23,000 businesses and 1,100 cities. These entities utilize the platform to report their environmental data and impacts, making CDP a pivotal player in gathering crucial information about planned climate actions and therefore cleantech needs.

"The work of CDP is crucial to the success of global business in the 21st century... helping persuade companies throughout the world to measure, manage, disclose and ultimately reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. No other organization is gathering this type of corporate climate change data and providing it to the marketplace". Ban Ki-moon, Former Secretary General, United Nations

The Solar Impulse Foundation acts as a broker, suggesting realistic and proven Efficient Solutions to decision-makers.

Why Collaborate?

The collaboration is designed to harmonize these distinct yet complementary approaches, fostering a holistic strategy: from commitments to environmental action.
With a shared vision of advancing sustainable solutions and clean technologies, the partnership seeks to bridge the gap between decision-makers and the practical solutions needed to tackle environmental challenges.

With this collaboration, we will build bridges by bringing cities and businesses that are committed to environmental action together with those who have the solutions to help them achieve their objectives. At CDP, we believe that partnerships of this kind are the foundation of impactful action to tackle the climate and nature crisis. Change needs to happen now - and it cannot happen in silos”. Maxfield Weiss, Executive Director of CDP

How Will the Collaboration Unfold?

Recognizing cities as central hubs for economic activity and decision-making, and building on both CDP and SIF’s strong understanding of cities environmental challenges, the collaboration will start by the development of an educational and inspirational program designed to motivate and empower city officials to implement Efficient Solutions.

Based on SIF's 'Solutions Guide for Cities' and its 'Solutions Explorer,' the sessions will be providing decision-makers with vetted, credible solutions for sustainable urban development.
