About

The PolyAI (Polymer-Aluminum) plates of Retrak are made of 45% polyethylene & 55% aluminum of Tetrapak packaging. Our true impact is in the usage of this material into something valuable towards building up the future. With a ton of recycled tetrapak packages we saved 17 trees, 750kg of paper, 200kg of plastic, 26,500 liters of water and we generated 10 direct and indirect jobs, speaking of emissions we saved 1,425kg of CO2 in the environment. Retrak beyond using a recycling material to create sustainable construction material we look forward to creating a Triple-Bottom-Line impact in which we support specific SDGs such as 8.4, 9.1, 9.4, 11.a, 12.5, 13.3, 15.4 & 17.19. Retrak uses circular economy, promoting public policies in the generation of jobs and the usage of recycling materials, therefore cooperation with different organizations is a strategy that benefits both our process & business, making a collaborative impact. About the opportunity in our market research we founded out that in 2019, an estimated 33,000 tonnes of cartons were collected for recycling; any of the bales that were purchased for recycling had to be sent to the United States or to other international purchasers. Canada does have a recycling system for tetra bricks but the next opportunity is on how to approach better that material and create a social-environmental impact.
