Wegaw, a young Swiss company, offers space-based insights for hydropower generation and trading optimization by monitoring snow & water data. Wegaw delivers unique value by pioneering the application of Deep Learning on RADAR signal imagery, reaching unprecedented accuracies of over 90%.
Wegaw's snow and water insights are supporting short-term discharge detection for energy providers in snow-prone regions, creating an up to 10% energy production increase and an up to 30% reduction of water spill.
For seasonal water forecast, Wegaw's products enable a reduction in error by 20 to 40% compared to multiannual average water discharge and a 5% price improvement for trading.
These improvements help to stabilize and support growth of hydropower operations, making it a more attractive clean energy source.
