In direct contact with the Media Relations Manager and the reporters, your main duties and responsibilities will be to handle press requests, organize interviews and support the team in the daily work while taking care of the back office of the department. During the flights you will manage the schedule of live in-flight interviews with the pilot and ensure the coordination with the mission control center from the press center located out of Switzerland. Dynamic, resourceful and comfortable with different kind of audiences, you have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a large event as a press officer. You will benefit of a large autonomy in a fast moving environment.

 

Responsibilities:

-Liaise with head of media relations on the mission around the world

-Management and follow up of media requests (information, material, interview, etc.)

-Responsible for the specialized media micro-website (Solar Impulse’s press corner) and ensuring it is

-kept up to date with all relevant material i.e. project information, pictures, footage, etc.

-Distributing press releases

-Monitoring and analyzing media coverage

-Management of the media database

 

Prerequisites:

-Education/experience in communication and/or media relations an asset

-International experience (having worked/studied with or in the USA, China or/and India is an asset)

-Bilingual in French and English (Chinese is an asset)

-Excellent communication skills both written and oral English and French

-Very good working knowledge and comfortable working with IT software and tools including MS Office Tools

-Need to be able to travel during round-the-world mission from January until July 2015 i.e. to potentially be relocated abroad for approx. 6 months

  • Design & implement Solar Impulse Web Strategy in China to cover the First Round-The-World Solar Flight
  • Manage the relationship with our partner Sina.com, focusing on solarimpulse.cn and Weibos account
  • Manage key Chinese accounts (WeChat, Youku….)

Specific Responsibilities

  • Adapt Solar Impulse publications for Chinese platforms
  • Create content for Chinese platforms

Prerequisite

  • Strong web experience with Chinese platforms and environment
  • HTML, Javascript, C++, CSS good knowledge, PHP (or any other MVC)
  • Adobe photoshop is a must, suite an asset
  • Chinese Web platforms management: Weibo, WeChat, Baidu, RenRen...
  • Good social media (Facebook, Twitter, G+, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat…)
  • MS Office knowledge is a must
  • Autonomous, Flexible, Adaptable,
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure,
  • Tech-curiosity, highly interested in web industry,
  • Driving License required.

Produce + design viral and compelling content to reach new audiences.

Creating innovative content to allow supporters to follow the Solar Impulse adventure on the web

Create a strong community engagement (KPI based)

Specific Responsibilities

Develop content across different formats (videos, animated videos, video graphics, drawings, infographics) and platforms during the Round-The-World Solar Flight

Content aligned with overall communications strategy but tailored to different target segments

Conceive and implement viral content campaigns around Solar Impulse flights, preparations, events and Co-Founders’ activities

Monitor and analyze performance

Prerequisite

Experience as professional online content creator, or youtuber / instagrammer...

Artistic and creative talent from any of the following fields: drawing, video-filming and editing, design

Excellent capacity to write news, blogs, prioritize information, storytelling

Previous experience in Journalism is an asset

Well-developed knowledge of social media and network trends
