Job description:

As ATC expert at Solar Impulse, you will be part of the mission operations team. Your goal will be to define, plan and execute ATC coordination for all Solar Impulse flights, including mission operations for round-the-world flights and flight testing in Switzerland and/or abroad.

 

Tasks:

- Advise on ATC topics to Solar Impulse operations
- Participate at Solar Impulse meetings concerning ATC matters
- Coordinate and organize the practical side of Solar Impulse flights with ATC authorities
- Assist Mission Control Centre during flight operation


Requirements:

- Extensive ATCO or OPS ATC experience (recent retirees welcome)
- Flexible : able to deal with frequent changes in strategy and day-to-day operations
- Be available for staying away from homeland between February and August 2015 (Round-The-World Flight attempt)
- Strong team working skills and ability to work autonomously
- Able to communicate effectively with authorities and other external entities as well as internally at Solar Impulse
- Short availability during pre-defined mission operation periods
- Excellent written and spoken French and English
- Good knowledge in use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word-Excel-PowerPoint)

 

Conditions: part-time basis

2014: Payerne airfield and home office

2015: somewhere in the world (not defined yet)

The Media relations Officer’s main duties are to implement overall media strategy leading up to and during the First Round-The-World Solar Flight (Spring/Summer 2015). This includes handling press requests, organizing interviews and press conferences, supervision content production, prospecting media visibility at an international level and handling press administration and back-office.

  • Organization and management of interviews and photo shootings around the aircraft

Prerequisites:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral English and French

  • Knowledge of Swiss and International media imperative (contacts to Swiss and global  media is a definite asset)

  • Very good working knowledge and comfortable working with IT software and tools including MS Office tools

  • Need to be able to travel during round-the-world mission from January until July 2015 i.e. to potentially be relocated abroad for 6 month

  • Ability to work in high pressure situations often with very short and tight deadlines (sense of priorities and organization, rigor, excellent time management and stress)

  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, in good team spirit while being autonomous and proactive
