The internship position will mainly consist on assisting the Managing Director; this position will give the intern the opportunity to be at the forefront of the project. Tasks/ Responsibilities:

The role of the Assistant of the Managing Director, Marketing, is to provide a constant support in his daily administration, business travels and private concerns by:

- Organising and managing diaries for the Managing Director

- Looking after incoming email and post for the Managing Director

- Insuring that all travel arrangements are in order and looked after for the Managing Director

- Assisting in Partner relations and diplomatic relation for the Round-the-World (i.e. carrying out background research)

- Producing documents, briefing papers, reports, minutes of meetings and presentations

- Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings

 

Qualification/Soft Skills:

- Autonomous, flexible in a fast moving environment, adaptable,

- Able to multitask and work under pressure,

- Comfortable interacting with various kind of audiences

- Fluent English and French (Any other language is an asset)

- Very good knowledge of MS Office tools


Duration/conditions of the internship:

- Duration: 4-5 months – (To start in August or September)

- Work Rate: Full time internship – flexible working hours depending on company’s events and flights

- Salary: 1200.-/month

- Place of Work: Lausanne and Payerne (VD)


The internship could possibly be extended for another 6 months giving the opportunity to the intern to work during Solar Impulse Round-The-World flight mission.

Job description:

As ATC expert at Solar Impulse, you will be part of the mission operations team. Your goal will be to define, plan and execute ATC coordination for all Solar Impulse flights, including mission operations for round-the-world flights and flight testing in Switzerland and/or abroad.

 

Tasks:

- Advise on ATC topics to Solar Impulse operations
- Participate at Solar Impulse meetings concerning ATC matters
- Coordinate and organize the practical side of Solar Impulse flights with ATC authorities
- Assist Mission Control Centre during flight operation


Requirements:

- Extensive ATCO or OPS ATC experience (recent retirees welcome)
- Flexible : able to deal with frequent changes in strategy and day-to-day operations
- Be available for staying away from homeland between February and August 2015 (Round-The-World Flight attempt)
- Strong team working skills and ability to work autonomously
- Able to communicate effectively with authorities and other external entities as well as internally at Solar Impulse
- Short availability during pre-defined mission operation periods
- Excellent written and spoken French and English
- Good knowledge in use of Microsoft Office Tools (Word-Excel-PowerPoint)

 

Conditions: part-time basis  

 

Place of work:

2014: Payerne airfield and home office

2015: somewhere in the world (not defined yet)

Qualifications / skills:

- An engineering degree in electronic or electrical science (HES, EPF)

- Minimum 5 years of experience

- Experience with Li-Po batteries, MPPTs, motor drivers, DC/DC is an asset

- Fluent in English, French and/or German are an asset

- Aviation experience is an asset

 

Location:

Payerne airfield, Switzerland, with occasional travels to Dübendorf airfield, Switzerland
