The growth of e-commerce, number of vehicles, pedestrianisation and environmental standards in the city centre make the delivery last km difficult. The consequences are an increase in congestion, CO2 emissions, pollution, noise and accident for city dwellers as well as an increase in costs and delays for delivery companies.
Private and public actors in urban logistics are struggling to find sustainable solutions at controlled cost. This solution is for the transport of goods in urban areas via inland waterways. It will make possible to secure the cost and punctuality of deliveries and the quality of life of urban dwellers.
