Identification

Most retail shops owner turn all their lights on as soon as they enter the shop. The EnergyBox has been created to help these retail shops reduce their energy consumption as well as avoid the users' bad habits. The box will control the lightning and HVAC of the shop and will monitor the electrical consumption.

The goal of the EnergyBox is to reduce the energy consumption of retail shops. It will do so by: (1) controlling the lights based on the opening hours of the shop, (2) controlling the HVAC system to reduce its consumption, and (3) monitoring the consumption of the shop and giving feedback to the owner.

Implemented by Lolaliza in Bruxelles (Belgium) in 2021

Lolaliza, a Belgian fashion brand, wished to consume energy only when needed and improve its HVAC system within its shops. To do so, Memoco installed the EnergyBox in 31 shops across Belgium from September 2020 to April 2021. The implementa- tion’s aim was to control the air conditioning system and the lights based on the stores’ opening hours and their alarms deactivation.

'-17% electricity consumption (average value for the 31 shops) = 66 tons of co2 saved
