SRU - Sodium Reduction Unit

Preventing the discharge of nitrate and phosphate from greenhouses

01.

Identification

By solving the problem of the accumulation of sodium in the irrigation water of the greenhouse, SRU solves the problem of the discharge of nitrate and phosphate from greenhouses, reducing the problem of eutrophication of natural water sources, ultimately resulting in sufficient oxygen levels in the water to support aquatic life.

The SRU will help greenhouse growers to completely eliminate the discharge of nitrate and phosphate into the environment. The process allows growers to re-use 100% of the nitrate and phosphate nutrients in the greenhouse. The result is a much better environment because the discharge of nitrate and phosphate causes Eutrophication in rivers. It keeps the sodium level in the greenhouse nutrient solutions constant, removing the need for growers to discharge. The process is based on ion exchange, the only technology that can completely separate nitrate and phosphate from sodium and keep them separate. The result is a full recovery of nitrate and phosphate and the cost-effective discharge of sodium from the greenhouse.
