About

Farmers, cooperatives and food industry increasingly produce biogas and fertilizer from the waste of the food production. Besides producing electric energy, heat and organic fertilizer, a part of the biogas can be refined to 98% biomethane as a fuel with the promise: 50% less fuel costs than diesel, 100% less GHG emissions. “CH4pa”, a multifunctional transport and working vehicle and “Mobi”, the Mobile Biogas Upgrading, are 2 global market innovations, specially developed to introduce BioCNG for gas driven vehicles in inland regions where no Natural Gas is available. Ch4pa is especially interesting for the 430 million farmers worldwide, that produce 75% of the global food supply and spend half of their income on diesel and fossil fertilizer. Mobi as a core component offers on-site "biogas upgrading - AS A SERVICE”, as only few biogas plants are equipped with upgrading facilities (1-4% depending on the region). By using Mobi also small and medium scale biogas plants can benefit from producing BioCNG for their own fuel usage and by sharing the costs for upgrading technology. In those decentralized biomethane regions diesel vehicles will be substituted by CNG vehicles like CH4pa and other new gas vehicles from Scania, New Holland and others. Atmove technology helps those remote areas to develop a market for CNG vehicles at all, as there are no gas grids available. We showcased the BioCNG system with CH4pa successfully in cooperation with Itaipu/Brazil, the biggest hydropower plant in the world. Global OEMs like Scania and New Holland are starting to adopt the business model of BioCNG mobility as they also see the potential to market their CNG vehicles in remote areas. Target regions for Atmove should fulfil following criteria: strong agricultural sector (especially livestock farming), popularity of CNG, price sensitive customers, poor infrastructure (gas pipelines, electricity supply), logistical challenges (transport of goods mainly by trucks), and a strong dependency on oil imports. These countries are situated in regions with a lot of biomass potential like In Latam, Africa, India and SE Asia, even in countries of Eastern Europe. Atmove is supporting the SDGs 7, 8 and 9.
