PUR is a leader in nature-based development, helping companies to reduce and offset their carbon emissions within their supply chain through “insetting.” These projects aim to regenerate and preserve ecosystems and support local farming communities. PUR has implemented nature-based solutions across 400,000 hectares in over 30 countries. Developing more than sixty projects integrating agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, reforestation and forest conservation practices. Founded in 2008, PUR develops projects within our clients’ supply chains—a process known as “insetting”—to both regenerate and preserve ecosystems and to support local communities of farmers through the development of nature-based solutions (NBS). We help companies mitigate and offset their carbon emissions and ultimately improve the resilience of their supply chains. We also develop “offsetting” projects through farmland reforestation and agroforestry programs, which enhance the value of carbon sequestration and generate carbon credits for companies—in addition to their direct emission reduction strategy. We implement “insetting” projects with the aim to reduce and offset our clients’ carbon footprint within their value chain—as opposed to traditional carbon offsetting. Our projects produce carbon assets that enable companies to achieve their emission reduction objectives in line with the Paris Agreement (emissions reductions related to *Scope 3). In parallel, we develop a limited number of so-called “offsetting” projects, consisting of valuing carbon sequestration through, for example, farmland reforestation projects. These carbon credits are then sold to companies to offset their carbon emissions in addition to their direct strategy to reduce emissions. *Scope 3 emissions include indirect emissions, such as those emitted when a company purchases goods and services, or those related to the transportation and distribution of such goods and services. They represent the highest proportion of a company’s emissions. Today PUR is an impact company that proudly supports more than 50,000 farmers and has planted more than 24 million trees.
