Identification
CLEARAS Solutions created and patented the EcoRecover Advanced Biological Nutrient Recovery (ABNR) system. The EcoRecover treats wastewater to discharge limitations or below in order to simultaneously recover plant based materials, creating a circular economy and providing a consistent source of income for the owner of the system. The wastewater provides essential nutrients to algal growth, like phosphorus and nitrogen. Recycled liquid carbon dioxide is pumped into EcoRecover as the other vital component for algae photosynthesis, allowing the system to sequester the carbon dioxide. The EcoRecover is added on to an existing wastewater treatment plant, after the secondary treatment system.

The environmental benefits
- •For every 1 lb of biomass produced, 2.2 lb of carbon dioxide is recycled
- •The biomass is harvested after water treatment and can be sold to companies making plant based products like algae based inks, foams, plastics, fertilizers, and more
- •Our largest plant to date produces 2000-3000 lb of biomass per day, that's almost 6000 lb of sequestered carbon dioxide
- •Potential to sequester 7650 lb of CO2 per day using only our existing projects, not counting any new projects
- •CLEARAS has the potential to be completely net negative if we can implement on site renewabe energy sources, we can sequester 0.024 lb of carbon dioxide per lb of biomass
