Identification

The solution provides a low-cost renewable energy concept that can be deployed in all countries in the world while increasing the amount of energy provided by 20-30% compared to traditional wind turbines.

Using kites flying at higher altitudes, the kite turbines are accessing better wind resources. They provide clean energy in a more stable pattern than other renewable energy solutions. Thanks to the kite principle, they require 90% less material resources and hence they are more economically attractive. Kite turbines take off like drones using four propellers. Afterwards, they move in a circular crosswind pattern, while a winch on the ground slowly unwinds a rope so that the kites fly higher and higher. Once the rope is fully unwound, the kite returns to the starting point for a new cycle. When the wind is too weak, the propellers are used to land the kite on a small mooring platform, so that it becomes almost invisible. The kite turbines have a minimum impact on the environment, are easy to move and have extensive commercial applications ranging from low power off-grid markets to offshore wind farms.
